Hours:                                                                                  Typical range of hours is based on the community needs and may require weekends. Workdays may be adjusted based on community needs. Part Time: 3-4 days per week, 4-6 hours per day (average 20-30 hours).

Physical Demands:                                                         Light (occasional up to 25 pounds) - Climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, etc.

Drug Screens:                                                                   Pre-employment, post injury, reasonable suspicion, and possible random screens.

  • Ability to respond to and resolve unexpected problems and handle priority changes in a fast-moving, fluid environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and the internet.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, strong organization skills, and ability to work well with onsite staff, customers, supervisors, corporate office associates and vendors.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, comprehend, speak, and read in English. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to comprehend legal documents and carry out related rent collections and lease management.
  • Intermediate level math skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimals, fractions, and calculate percentages in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of property operations with emphasis on lease terms and to support contract enforcement, including collections.

 

General Summary of Associate Responsibility:

The Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) promotes the Resident Services Program by helping residents achieve maximum independence and self-sufficiency. The RSC meets these objectives by identifying needs and linking residents with services and resources in the community, including educational and job training opportunities, financial assistance, health care and personal support services, personal finance and budgeting information, after school and summer programming for children, nutrition education, food assistance, and socialization opportunities such as community gardens and recreational activities.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Possess a four (4) year college degree with a major in social services, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. One (1) year experience in related field; minimum of one (1) year experience in subsidized housing preferredPrior sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with local state, federal, and community resources for low-income households, including services for families with children, elderly and disabled residents. Candidates should be familiar with eligibility requirements and processes for accessing services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interview residents and assess their capabilities and needs and help them determine what services are needed to achieve or maintain independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Meet regularly with the Property Manager to ensure open communication and effective coordination of activities and services.
  • In collaboration with the Property Manager, develop an annual Resident Services Work Plan based on the needs and interests of residents and the availability of resources in the surrounding community.
  • Conduct an annual survey of residents to identify needs within the community and use survey results to inform goals and services.
  • Identifying needs and linking residents with services and resources in the community. a. Provide educational information for individuals, groups, families, or the community regarding issues such as nutrition, substance abuse, bedbug prevention, health and wellness, parenting issues, crime prevention and fire safety.

  • Serve as a liaison, when requested, for mediation between residents and schools, family services, child guidance clinics, protective services, health care providers and others to assist in resolving problems.
  • Develop on-site programs and activities in accordance with resident needs and interests, and the availability of facilities and resources
  • Fulfill all applicable reporting requirements.

a. Receive referrals from the Property Manager for new residents and residents who are in jeopardy of eviction due to nonpayment or other lease violations.

b. Follow up on all referrals of “at-risk” residents by conducting outreach, providing appropriate assistance, and reporting back to the Property Manager.

c. Provide new resident orientation for all new residents.

d. Keep the Resident Services Manager and the Property Manager informed of daily work schedule and all resident services programs and activities.

a. Maintain resident files in accordance with policies. Resident files must be kept in locked file cabinets.

b. Provide activity reports and support data to comply with HUD or other applicable reporting requirements.

c. Provide quarterly reports on progress in achieving the goals of the resident services plan.

  • Report all safety issues, violations of government regulations, and violations of company policies.
  • Complete 12 hours of the required annual training.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
